Welcome!
The Roberta Savler Piano Contest is an annual event sponsored by Chicago Area Music Teachers Association (CAMTA), a local
chapter of the Music Teachers National Association
(MTNA) and Illinois State Music Teachers Association
(ISMTA). As one of the largest events of its kind, the Contest attracts around 100
students every year from the greater Chicago area. Students compete for trophies and a
performance opportunity. Participating teachers do not have to be CAMTA members, but
non-members must pay an additional per-student fee.
The 32nd Annual CAMTA Roberta Savler Piano Contest was held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at
Roosevelt University in Chicago. Click on the
links to the left to learn more about the Contest. Keep in mind that this event is run by
volunteers who sacrifice their time and energy to ensure that things go as smoothly as
possible. Please help by making sure that you have read and fully understand the Rules and Regulations concerning the Contest, as well as taking the time to
look through the Frequently Asked Questions. If you have any further
questions or concerns after reading through these, do not hesitate to contact us.
If you are a music teacher in the Chicago area, becoming a member of CAMTA will provide you
with many members-only benefits besides the lower application fees for entering students in
this Contest. Check out CAMTA's website and join
this not-for-profit organization of dedicated music teachers today!

We are trying to develop an information archive for the Contest and we need your help! If
you have copies of Honors Recital programs, winners lists from CAMTA Newsletters, Rules and
Regulations, or repertoire lists from past contests (2001 and before) that you would be
willing to share for this purpose, please contact us!
